So long, My Browser
Now that User Agent strings have been deprecated it’s now time to put this project to bed. It’s had a great run, but has now run its course. Here’s the last screengrab I took of it, for memories.
I designed My Browser to be a tool that made gathering browser information easy. There are very many other tools, but I never enjoyed sending those to clients as I often had to also explain how to use them.
My Browser has been a great showpiece of how to build using Progressive Enhancement and instead of suggesting other tools for you to use, I recommend a Progressive Enhancement approach to building for the web. You will be astounded at how little you have to worry about what browser is not behaving as you wish it to, so tools like this will no longer be as relevant to you.
